There would be no Fork & Salad without Three’s Bar & Grill in Kīhei, our owners’ first restaurant, which opened in 2010 and was recently damaged in a kitchen fire. We’re happy to lend our support and our kitchen space, to keep Three’s catering operations running while the restaurant is rebuilt. We also appreciate all the support, concern and encouraging words from customers during this challenging time. Here’s an update for you.
Sunday, October 24 is a day that will never be forgotten at Three’s. A fire started just before 6 a.m., causing damage to the kitchen and forcing the restaurant to close for the time being. That being said, there’s a lot to be thankful for: No one was in the building (so no injuries), fire crews responded very quickly (so the fire didn’t spread like it could have), and we’ve had amazing support from the so many sources — the county of Maui, firefighters, our insurance company, our incredible staff, our sister restaurant Fork & Salad, loyal customers and the local community.
It’s been overwhelming, and challenging, and exhausting, but we are banding together like we always do and getting through it together. Once all the drywall is removed, the kitchen demo phase will be complete, and among the tireless work we have ahead, there will also be some cool renovations you can look forward to. Those enhancements include new tile on the patios, new paint and artwork throughout the restaurant, and even a revamped menu!
We’re very grateful that our catering teams are still in action on Pacific Whale Foundation trips, and at weddings and venues around Maui. In fact, look for our Three’s food truck at the Made in Maui County Festival on Saturday, Nov. 5 among many other events!
As for Three’s, we’re aiming to be ready to open again within a few weeks, so stay tuned for news of a huge grand reopening celebration! We are staying focused with PASSION and purpose. A big Mahalo for all the support as we put our hearts into getting Three’s back and better than ever!
