A year ago today, we opened our doors at Fork & Salad in Kīhei. The build-out process, hand-crafted decor and custom menu creation had taken many months, but on Wednesday, July 13th, 2016, we were ready.  The grand opening celebration and blessing that followed were unforgettable!

The community embraced us from the beginning, and we delivered on our mission: make farm-to-table cuisine accessible to more people; provide customers with the freshest, healthiest food possible; and support our local farmers and producers.

Over the last year, we’ve…

-Added employees to our team and supported Maui’s economy.

-Enhanced our menu with combo deals, specials and even a beer/wine list.

-Become known for our mini-farmers’ market, featured in front of Fork & Salad during 4th Friday town parties in Kīhei every month.

-Launched a catering operation, and along with our sister restaurant Three’s, have catered events that involve Grow Some Good, Maui County, Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Oprah Winfrey and more.

-Unveiled the “Know Your Farmers” video series, which introduces you to the hard-working people behind your food, and shares an up-close look at where it comes from.

-Brought on more local suppliers (25+!) and stayed dedicated to them, no matter what.

-Been featured in local media coverage, including Maui Now, Maui News, Maui Watch, Visitor Channel, Maui Nō Ka ‘Oi Magazine, Menu Magazine and Hawai’i News Now.

-Been recognized for our commitment to Maui farmers with a special “Friend of Agriculture” ‘Aipono award.

Plus, out in print, today of all days, we’re honored to be named Best New Restaurant by MauiTime — a much-appreciated symbol of support from our local community!!

So…let’s celebrate!!  July 13th is our “official” birthday, but due to our busy catering schedule, we’ve decided on Wednesday, July 19th as the party date!  Chef Travis outlines the details in our video.

As a huge mahalo to our customers, we’ll be offering 30% off on our menu, ALL DAY LONG, between 10:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. We’re also offering an epic basil-crusted eggplant parmigiana special with house-made roasted tomato marinara, melted mozzarella, local green salad and banana peppers, all for just $11.99.  The eggplant from Kumu Farms is sweet, organic and out of this world!!

You’re likely to see some notable chefs and other VIPs milling around throughout the day on July 19th. We’ll also be inviting our local farmers to join in the celebration and even showcase some of their amazing produce, so stop by and get to know them too!

We wouldn’t be here without YOU, and can’t thank you enough for your continued support and patronage!  Here’s to many MORE memorable years ahead!  #EatLocalEatHealthy
