Fresh produce is meant to be that: fresh as can be, and in-tune with the seasons. Which means, we want to respect not only Mother Nature’s bounty, but also her timing. So in our newest Fork & Salad in Orange, California, we offer a special salad that changes as the seasons do, and gives our local growers a shout-out. For summer, it features Spring mix tossed with Roasted Garlic Balsamic Dressing, Pickled Cauliflower, Watermelon Radish, Green Papaya, Strawberry, Sun Sprouts, and Almonds; topped with Golden Curry Raisins and Goat Cheese. Check it out in our video above!
We’re proud to source some of those awesome ingredients from local suppliers, Sunny Cal Farms in Reedley/Fresno and Black Sheep farms in Ontario. A portion of each seasonal salad sold will benefit Orange Home Grown Foundation all year long. The local nonprofit is dedicated to bringing awareness of healthy living and urban agriculture to the local community. In addition to educating kids, supporting families and feeding those in need, it also hosts the ever-popular Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market, which happens in Old Towne Orange every Saturday.
Local has always mattered to us, whether in Hawai‘i or California; in fact, our Orange produce supplier sources 90% of its items locally from Southern and Central California farms, and we also feature local vendors like Bread Artisan Bakery and Bootstrap Kombucha.
So, savor summer while it lasts and come enjoy our Orange Home Grown Seasonal Salad, then get ready for a new epic creation once Fall is upon us!! And for all you Maui fans, be on the lookout for some Autumn seasonal specials too on the island in later September!! #EatHealthyThinkMaui
